Kovaleski and several other 纽约时报 staff members received the Pulitzer in the category of "突发新闻报道." The prizes were announced in April and presented during a ceremony today at Columbia University.
Kovaleski, who majored in philosophy at William & Mary, began his career in journalism at the 迈阿密的新闻 in the mid-1980s, after spending some time after College studying and traveling in Europe. He later reported for the 纽约每日新闻 and 华盛顿邮报. 关于 three years ago, he joined the staff at the 次.
